We would like to invite your child/ward to participate in the exciting summer half-term workshop at the 2012 Olympic site!
Students will work with Young Artist Programme tutors and professional artists to explore a range of experimental drawing and printmaking techniques to create work in response to the Olympic park construction site in the build up to London 2012.
Students will investigate new ways to record the sights and sounds of the construction site through drawing and collage, as well as explore the history of the site and the Games through different printmaking techniques, working from archival material, maps and photos. The resulting work will be transformed into digitally printed banners for display at The View Tube, a community venue located on The Greenway adjacent to the Olympic Park.
When: 10am – 4pm, Wednesday 2nd June 2010
Where: The View Tube is located on The Greenway, Newham, Stratford, East London. Please see directions and map attached.
What you need to remember: Please bring a packed lunch; wear comfortable clothes that you can get messy in and comfortable walking shoes for the short tour of the Greenway.
Please note that students will need to make their own way to The View Tube.
There are only 30 places available on this workshop. Places will be filled on a first come, first serve basis. If you would like your child/ward to participate on the workshop you must call or email us by Wednesday 26th May. The application form must then be returned by post or fax the application form to the office by Thursday 27th May.
